Today I had a doctors appointment. Shortest one I have had in a long time, but it was also very beautiful. I heard our little baby's heartbeat for the first time without an ultrasound machine. At that moment I was one proud mama. Similar to the feeling you get when your child takes their first step. My baby is growing! I have had a lot of doubts this pregnancy and lots of fears that things would just not go right. I think I have been reading too much about all the things that can go "wrong" that I had forgot just how many times things go right. So in that moment of listening to the little heart beat I was given the peace that I needed, that things were going well and our little peanut is growing and developing beautifully. Such a miracle. Every time.
The rest of today was relaxing and fun too. McKay was home watching the littles (he had the day off) while I went to the doctors and then went and got a free facial. I really enjoy Mary Kay products so it was fun to have new ideas on how I could apply my makeup, because honestly I could use all the help I can get in the makeup department. I think it all turned out well, and McKay was really impressed with the new look when I got home ;) It is fun to feel pretty, especially in the "fat" stage of pregnancy.
Tonight we ran errands, ate dinner, and I found my dress for Corinne's wedding which is no small task when you are pregnant so I am excited to have that crossed off my list of things to do.
Yesterday was my last day of babysitting full time. Yay! Babysitting has been a blessing in our lives (most of the time) but the time had come to move on. I knew I couldn't/didn't want to do 4 kids under 3 full time, so I just decided to quit now and spend some extra time with my kids this summer before the baby comes. I feel really good about this decision and happy that I have this time with just my kids.
Life is great, busy, and very normal right now, and I am just soaking it up since that darn morning sickness has disappeared this past week.
P.S. Don't forget to listen to conference this weekend! We will be watching it from our couch at home, and hopefully eating some yummy food. :)
