Sunday morning she came with us to church and helped us wrestle our cranky 15 month old who is in the trenches of teething. After church we had yummy waffles with homemade whipped cream and strawberries and then we all took wonderful naps. Sunday evening my mom and I planned what we were going to do the rest of her stay, plus we coordinated schedules for the next few months. We have a busy spring this year and lots of family events. We will be heading to Utah almost every other weekend until summer.
Monday we created a very random shopping list and headed out to buy our supplies for our projects. Of course to keep the kids happy we added in a trip to the mall play place and a pretzel as a treat. I think this trip was the highlight of the week for Addie because she can't stop talking about that pretzel.
After playing on the play place for a little bit a little girl wet her pants on one of the toys and the mom did not even try and clean it up. gross! So we left and let the kids play on the kiddie rides for a few minutes. I think they liked that even better and we didn't even put money in the rides. :)
Monday afternoon we took more naps (a nap everyday... yes please!) and then had dinner with McKay. Later that night my mom was a trooper and came to Zumba with me. So fun for me to show her what I do each week and introduce her to some of my friends. And do you know what? She said that she enjoyed it. :) And she did really well for her first time (and I am not just saying that mom)
Tuesday morning was our "work" day. My mom helped me make freezer strawberry jam and TONS of homemade granola. I was excited for both and it is always more enjoyable to do big projects in the kitchen together. It was also helpful since watching kids and cooking isn't always the easiest thing.
Tuesday afternoon we headed to the park before a major windstorm and then out to lunch. So nice to get out of the house 2 days in a row. The kids certainly were in love with all the activities.
After Tuesday's naps it was time for grandma to leave us. The kids cried after she left and Addie keeps asking when we are going to grandma's house. She is definitely missed by all!
Addie even misses her fun new phone. Thanks for coming grandma!
