New Glasses

So I don't know if any of you noticed that in the last post McKay was wearing glasses....But he is. They are a belated birthday gift from me, and we FINALLY went and picked them out. Better late then never, right? haha I think they look REALLY good on him, and it makes me feel better as we are driving to know that he can now actually SEE what is going on around him.
Along with the the pair that he is wearing in the picture we also bought a extra cheaper pair that he can just leave in the car or his backpack so that he doesn't always have to carry them around. So far they he says that they are working out great and I am loving his new look. If you missed the pictures in the last post here are some more up close and personal ones. Thanks McKay for posing for me. :)

And for comparison here is a picture of his old glasses. Not that I don't love him then just as much as I do with his new ones, but I think that the new glasses look lots better.
Thanks for reading, have a great day!

July 24th mini trek in Wyoming

So this past weekend McKay and I were invited by his dad on a "mini" blast to the past in honor of the 24th of July. He was planning on following the mormon pioneers trail from Wyoming to Salt Lake City and then stop at a few significant sites along the way. I was pretty nervous at what this all involved since I had just ran 15 miles the day before and wasn't up for very much intense hiking. But luckily it was more driving than walking and the sites that he took us to were very cool. Since I was little I have been interested in our pioneer heritage and I love hearing stories and reading books about the pioneers and the amazing trials that they overcame. So this trip was definitely worth every minute of it. Also along with following the trail we had fun carpooling with Jesse and Natalie from logan, sleeping out under the stars in their backyard (I didn't really love this part and only got about three hours of sleep that night, but I guess it increased my respect for the pioneers), going garage saling on Saturday (I am beginning to love these), and a relaxing barbaque prepared by McKay's sisters saturday night(thanks girls!). Overall it was a really fun summer weekend spent with family. Ok now enough of my talking, here are the pictures...
This first one is of us at our first stop at Brigham Young's Arrow that he created just north of Evanston to help direct the saints in which direction they should go. It is located on private property so not many people have the chance to see it, but luckily McKay's family is in the guy's ward so they got special permission. :)

These next ones are of the whole trekin crew standing in front of the arrow.

After the arrow we drove past these HUGE windmills that are on this man's property too and since we were SO close we couldn't help take pictures of them too.

Our next stop was at a part of the trail that was near Muddy Creek crossing and then after we visited it we actually drove to Muddy creek campground and ate a fun picnic. Here are a few pictures from that trail. I was amazed at how steep it was and I almost slipped myself and I didn't even have a huge wagon train with me!
Later on down the trail we stopped by some old kilns that had been used to make charcoal from wood. They obviously weren't there when the pioneers crossed the plans but were created later.

Then after the kilns we were all beat so we just headed back to their house and had dinner and naps. No we did not actually make it to the Salt Lake Valley, but we had tons of fun talking and telling pioneer stories. And for me I had had not seen as many of the pioneer sights in Wyoming so it was a great lesson for me.
And last but not least after dinner we headed over to Bear River State Park for a relaxing walk and to check out the wild life. It was a beautiful way to end the weekend :)

Thanks for reading and hope everyone had a great Pioneer Day! Here are a couple last pictures for you of us eating some of the amazing fruit that McKay's family fed us while we were there, seriously in one weekend we ate Cherries, blueberries, raspberries, apricots, watermellon, and cantalope YUM!

I'm Back

Hey everyone sorry for the lack of posts...I was just busy getting a few things done. So thanks for being patient and look forward to lots of posts in the near future. (Yet at the same time don't get too excited, there isn't anything too exciting, life is pretty much as normal as it can get) Well, that is all for tonight! Have a great Sunday!
P.S. I hope you enjoy the new background, sadly my last one got deleted somehow so I had to come up with a back up one.

Marathon Update

So tonight I was getting a little bored so I decided to update everyone on how the marathon training is coming thus far. First I would just like to acknowledge how COOL it is that I can even have a marathon update because that means that I am actually sticking to my goal! wahoo! Ok moving on, so this past saturday McKay and I ran 13 miles. That means we are half way done with the training, and the whole time I was running those 13 miles I just kept thinking, I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS IS ONLY HALF OF IT! HOW WILL I RUN 13 MORE! But when there is a will there HAS to be a way! right? Overall the training is going really well, I am starting to get up earlier and earlier in the morning to run because it is just so dang hot around 8 am.
I also just purchased my new shoes that should hopefully carry me through the actual blessed event so YAY to not having to buy $100 shoes anytime soon! Oh and thanks to McKay for supporting me through my past couple long Saturday runs... I haven't quite figured out WHY you keep coming with me, and I am amazed that you can just go out and run that far without training for weeks, but thank you it has made the runs so much more enjoyable. (Now I just have to see if I can talk him into running the actual marathon with me) hehe Well that is all for tonight, hope everyone is having a good night!

Happy Happy Birthday Larissa!

Today is my oldest sister's 22nd birthday. Many of you fellow bloggers may not have even known that I have an older sister because I haven't really talked about her much. But that is not because I don't love her dearly it is because she is currently serving a LDS mission in Texas and she is loving it. So I thought since it is her birthday I would tell you all a little bit about her, from my perspective... Larissa is 15 months older than me and we have almost exact opposite personalities. She was always the tomboy and loved playing with legos. I was the girly girl who loved playing dolls. Funny story: One year I gave Larissa a doll for Christmas just because I wanted it and I knew she would never play with it. :)
She is the peacemaker of the family and so whenever Corinne and I would be fighting she would always step in and "try and keep the peace" yet saldly, It didn't always work...
Larissa is the funniest person I know. Seriously some of her under the table comments and/or her comebacks would make us roll on the floor for hours.
Larissa is an avid Finding Nemo fan, she can almost quote the whole movie. Such as "My name's Bruce" HELLO BRUCE! (or Bob if you are Uncle Craig)
Larissa is also very smart. She had a 4.0 all through high school to prove it
And last but not least she is a spiritual giant. I used to often think to myself, "man, I wish I read my scriptures or prayed as often as Larissa does." With all of that being said I know that she is a fantastic missionary and I am so excited for the people of Houston. Well that is all from me for tonight, and thanks for listening to me brag about my wonderful sister. She would probably kill me if she knew I was doing this, but I guess that is one good thing about her being gone. Have a good night everyone!
Larissa As a little girl. Only picture that I have of her at that age on my computer

A Day Off

So a day off is very rare around here. But because the 4th fell on a Sunday today just happened to be one of those days. McKay did go into his jobs for the first half of the day but finished up around 11:00 so we had the rest of the day to ourselves since I didn't have to work at all. So we went up Logan Canyon and had a fun picnic complete with my favorite pizza and breadsticks from Papa Johns. Thanks McKay for surprising me with such a relaxing and fun date!

After our date we headed over to Verizon to get new cell phones. It felt just like Chirstmas as we got our "fancy" new and shiny phones. We got the same phone for buy one get one free and then McKay got a blue case so that we can tell them apart and so that when (not if) he drops his it will hopefully not break. :) So exciting! After getting the phones we just headed back home to figure them out. Oh and we kept our same phone numbers so don't worry about trying to get any new ones. Hope everyone is having a happy Monday!

Sunday The Fourth of July

So on the actual 4th of July we slept over at my parents house and had a nice quiet Sunday. We went to church and then took lovely sunday afternoon naps. Heavenly! I also made a very cute 4th of July cake, complete with white frosting and red and blue sprinkles. Very yummy! Thanks Mom, Dad, Corinne and Mykelti for letting us share the holiday with you!

Let Freedom Ring! Party on Fry Family...Party On

This year for the 4th of July my dad was DYING to go to a water park so we decided to go to Raging Waters on Saturday in celebration of the 4th. We also decided that it would be more fun if we invited cousins to come with us. So we had another amazing party with my mom's side of the family at Raging Waters and followed it up with a barbaque at my parent's house after. The water park was not super crowded and I think everyone loved, as my little cousin said as we left the park "this has been so fun!" And I completly agree even if I was too scared to go on any of the major waterslides.:) Here are a few pictures from our adventures for your enjoyment...

Oh and yes your eyes are correct that is McKay stuck inside a tower of intertubes. Love him!
And all of the brave souls in this lovely picture....
Went off of these crazy rides,(check out the pictures below for proof)...

Crazy! Now notice I was not featured in this daring activity, I was just the family photographer.

After Raging Waters we had a yummy YUMMY family dinner. The weather was perfect and we all enjoyed relaxing and eating as much food as possible... at least that is what McKay and I did. Now before I show the next set of pictures I have to give credit where credit is due... I did not take these pictures they were taken by this cute little guy. Thanks Dayton!

On your mark, get set, go!
Silly Grandpa!

And he took their picture even if they didn't want it taken... sorry Bradley and Trevor
After eating we watched old family videos in our family room. Man are we cheesy! But it is just so fun to laugh at each other every chance we get. I think we need a bigger family room if we want to do this for much longer... I am so thankful for this free country that we are so blessed to live in so that we can worship, dress, and act the way that we choose. I am SO proud to be an AMERICAN!
