The End of the Winter of 2014

This winter we were all sick sick sick.  I am not just talking morning sickness, but illness too.  It seemed somebody had something about every other week for months on end.  It go so bad that I really wondered if I was/am doing something wrong.  Was our house not clean?  Are they eating bad?  Not drinking enough liquids? I am still not sure what caused all the sickness, but we hope it doesn't come again for a long time.

The past two weeks have been the worst.  We all had REALLY bad colds.  Currently I have no voice after all the coughing that I did.  One good thing about it was that we all had the same thing, so I pretty much knew how the kids were feeling which helped me guess on what care was needed.  This cold has lasted 11 days and is now just starting to go away.  It is hard to stay away from people and friends for that long, especially when you babysit everyday!

Yesterday I finally took the kids to the doctor and they were given medicine for ear infections.  Neither child was pulling on their ears or acting like they hurt (I think they are pretty mild ear infections), but I am sure after being sick for so long, things just start to build up.  This is the first time they have been on antibiotics this year so I hope it helps clear their systems and they stay healthy for a long time.

While I am not one that wants to put my kids in a bubble, we are going to take a few more precautions to help keep them strong and healthy such as washing hands more (and maybe not so many chocolate chips).   :)

Even with all the sickness the kids have been troopers.  They still sleep fairly well at night and love being outside.  What sweet kids we have!

And here are a few (or a lot) of pictures that just never made it on the blog from this winter...

And I have to say.  As crazy as it was to have them 16 months apart for that first year I think it is going to pay off in the long run.  McKay and I just LOVE watching them interact and play now.  They are so so cute together.  This summer is going to be lots of fun with my "big" kids before the baby comes.
