Hey everyone, hope you are having a great day! Today I thought that I would give you a sneak peek of the baby's room. It isn't finished yet, and we will hopefully be doing some work on it in the next few days. Yet even with that said I don't know when it will ever be completely done because of the shear fact that things are expensive and as much as I would like to go out and splurge to do everything I want I am trying to have patience and remember that there is something called a budget. :)
So here is the preview and frankly the VERY best thing in the entire room. It was the inspiration for the rest of the room and I *LOVE* how it turned out. This is the quilt that my mom made for our sweet little girl's crib. It is darling and my mom did an amazing job with it. It was the insiration for the whole room. And guess what NO pink! And since all little girl decorations are made out of pink or purple it has made decorating a little bit more of a challenge, but well worth it. Here are a few more pictures that I took, sorry about the bad lighting I REALLY need to learn how to edit pics. SO cute! I just love it! And it is even better in person. Thank you mom for making it!
Also a quick thank you to all of the wonderful women who have given us gifts. Our baby has so many beautiful handmade blankets/quilts, burp cloths, bibs, and even a hand made blessing dress. We feel very blessed to have such wonderful friends and family. I can't wait to use all of them! (only six more weeks!) YAY! Have a good day!

Insurance... so happy to have you in my life
Today I am grateful for insurance to pay for all of life's fun (or not so fun surprises) Such as...
A root canal
Followed by a crown
A baby (ok we knew about this one, but I am still happy to not have to pay the full $10,000 for her)
And a possible shoulder injury
Yay for saving some money! Have a good day!

Do we live in Idaho or Utah?
Well we had another great weekend. Busy with family plans and fun activities. McKay had his usual friday off so Thursday night we headed to Lava Hot Springs to my Uncle and Aunt's fun cabin. The boys and Larissa spent Friday morning painting lines on their basketball court while I stayed in the cabin and cooked food and relaxed. While relaxing we spotted this in the front yard pretty cool and HUGE!
On Friday my mom and Corinne came up to join the party. And about thirty minutes after they showed up my mom said "Hurry lets take a family picture we are all here." (It was pretty impressive that we were all there at the same time because someone usually has work, basketball, or other activities going on) So here is our second family photo since McKay joined the family. :)
A few more pictures of us outside the cabin...
That afternoon McKay and I headed to Salt Lake for a family reunion on his mom's side of the family. We had a barbaque and then a pool party at a local pool. McKay had fun playing water basketball with his brothers and I had fun visiting and playing with the nieces and nephew. I am not really a swimmer but I am sure excited to take our little girl to the pool next summer. Then on Saturday we headed back to Lava for a few hours before heading home for church the next day. While at lava on saturday McKay, my dad and Mykelti headed to the pool while my mom and I stayed and visited at the cabin. That night we had a yummy dutch oven dinner. We were exhausted on saturday night from all the driving and even though we probably could not do it every weekend it was fun to be able to see both sides of the family. Well that is all for today, have a good day!

Reading
I love reading, I usually go in cycles of reading tons, and then I hit a dry spell and nothing sounds interesting, but eventually I come back around and start reading again.
McKay has been in a reading mood lately and he finally dragged me into it too. Sunday we sat on the couch next to each other and read for like two hours staight followed by a 2-3 hour conversation of what we were reading (yeah our sundays are pretty layed back right now).
Usually I read only one book at a time and then ofcourse the scriptures. But right now I am reading lots of different things. I am trying to read Jesus the Christ by James E. Talmage before the baby comes, I am also reading Sisters of the Quilt series by Cindy Woodsmall borrowed from my mom, trying to stay on top of the Ensign, and finish the Book of Mormon from a really old goal set by our old stake presidency but I am still determined to finish it.
Speaking of the Ensign I just have to HIGHLY recomend that everyone read the article titled "Defending the Family in a Troubled World" from the June Ensign. It is AMAZING, perfect, wonderful, and so needed in our world today. I have read it a half a dozen times and have found so much peace from it. It really helps you realize just HOW important the family is. SO read it...seriously. :)
It has been so fun the last few days reading lots, and maybe letting a few things that I could have been doing. And I am sure that I will be done reading a few of these books in the next week or so. Any suggestions of good books that any of you have read recently?

I Have a Good Reason
Hey everyone, think that I forgot about my promise of being a better blogger? I promise that I didn't I just had a few things come up but I am still here. We had a crazy and eventful last few days but things are starting to settle down now and we will be back to normal soon. (I hope). What did we do that was SO eventful? We bought a NEW CAR! Car shopping, getting a loan, and signing the papers the whole nine yards. And all you people out there who own a car know how buying a car can be quite a process. This was my first time dealing with the whole car buying experience and can I just suggest to not buy a car when you are 32 weeks pregnant. It is not really a pleasant experience...
Up until 2 weeks ago we had no can I repeat NO intentions of buying a new car. We didn't need it (we only need one car since mckay rides a bus to work), but our air conditioner in our only car went out and it was going to cost a lot to fix it and then we realized that if we wanted to get a loan for a house in a few years we were going to need some more credit. So we thought this was a good time to get a loan and build some credit. So we began car shopping and thanks to McKay's brother and sister we were able to find a great car and get a loan.
So after a quick trip to from Idaho to Wyoming, and then on to Utah (not really quick but we had fun seeing family along the way) we are now the proud owners of a Honda Accord! We had fun driving it around for a few days and then it headed back to the dealership for a quick face lift. We needed to raise the suspensions back to normal height we are not really low riding kind of people especially in the snow).
So I have been hanging out in good old Draper with my family Mckay headed back to Idaho for work on Monday and I will hopefully be heading that way soon. Not fun to be apart :( But luckily I have been able to get a good start on the baby room decorations so we have stayed busy. So come back for pictures in a few days, I will post some as soon as we get it back from the dealer. Well that is all for today, have a good day!

I just can't go that deep today
So I had an idea about what I was going to write about today, but it is pretty deep and would definitely take some thought from me, and I am just not in that kind of a mood today so we will save it for another day...
So instead we will talk about all the exciting things going on in our families the past couple of weeks.
-In the past two weeks three of our siblings graduated from high school! Congrats Leslie, Preston, and Corinne! Such a fun time, I loved highschool graduation :) Wish we lived closer so that we could have been there for them!
-On May 26th McKay's sister had her third child. It was a little boy and they named him Kyle. He was so tiny and cute. Sure can't wait to meet him later this summer.
-And on June 6th (two days ago) McKay's oldest brother Laron welcomed their third child into their family. It was a girl and they named her Bailey. Hopefully we will get to go see her this weekend or next. Congrats!
All these exciting things going on makes me even more excited for our little girl to get here! (not too soon, we will let her grow in there for a few more weeks) :) Have a good day!

River Walk
The last couple of weeks we have enjoyed seeing some of the sights around our new town. Over Memorial Day weekend we went on a walk around the river. We saw lots of geese and ducks and unfortunetly we forgot to bring bread to feed them (and a camera to take pictures), but it was sure fun watching them. The Snake river is VERY full these days as is every other river with this crazy spring weather that we are having. It was so bad in some areas that we had to end up walking up on the road instead of the path because the path was covered in a foot of water. Hopefully it doesn't get too much worse!
We enjoyed our walk so much that day that McKay requested to go again a week later on his birthday. This time we tried out a different part of the path and it was a beautiful night. Thanks McKay for going slow for me, sure can't wait till I can start running again! This time we did remember to bring the camera...

Thanks for reading! Hope everyone is having a good day!

Birthday Boy
Happy Birthday McKay! I love you!
Today is McKay's 26th birthday! So fun! To celebrate I made breakfast for him before work. yummy! much better than the normal yogurt and toast on the go. :)
(this picture was taken at 4:45 this morning so forgive him if he doesn't quiet look awake yet)
For the rest of the day he requested Veggie Lasanga, spice cake, and then a walk around the river. So not too exciting but still fun to spend time together. Thank you McKay for all of your hard work to support our family, you are the best husband and soon to be father we could ask for!

A Virtuous Woman...More Precious than Rubies
I love this scripture and it has been a guide in my life many times when temptations around me have blurred my view and tempted me to make desicions that were not so virtuous. It continues to be a favorite of mine today and has been on my mind a lot lately since we are preparing to have a little girl of our own and I was thinking about how I can teach her to be a virtuous woman. So when we moved into our new apartment I began searching for the perfect way to use this saying in my home. But as each idea came into my mind I quickly turned it down because it just wasn't that 'perfect' thing.
But even though I didn't have the perfect idea, my amazing mother did and I couldn't help but share it with all of you. She got the idea from President Hinckley's daughter when she spoke at a fireside so you know that it is a good idea :) So for mothers day my mom made this for her mom...
Isn't it beautiful? I think so. It goes back five generations (from my grandma) to the first woman in her family to join the LDS church back in the 1800s. She then brought her family to America, crossed the plains and then finally settled in Utah. That is six generations of strong and virtuous women! It is definitely a testimony building experience to know that I come from such strong and noble roots. My mom did an excellent job at the presentation of it. She was able to do the whole thing on her Adobe Photoshop program that she uses for digital scrapbooking and then print it out as one big picture. So Cool!
So needless to say I now know how I am going to use the saying in my home. :)Thanks mom for coming up with the 'perfect' idea and for teaching me about how to be a virtuous woman. Hope everyone is having a great day! Thanks for reading!
