Well today's post is going to be a little bit random. I wasn't planning on writing a post today, but Adalyn surprised me and is taking a second nap (very rare for her) so we have a little bit of time on our hands. Also tonight's dinner is leftovers (from Jensen's blessing yesterday, post coming soon) so I am not slaving away in the kitchen right now like I normally am 30 mins before McKay gets home from work. So enjoy a few random pictures and stories that for one reason or another have not made it onto another post.
Adalyn loves to play with sinks and water. To entertain her these days I will often fill a bowl with some water and let her play in it with other random gadgets that I find in the kitchen. Some days it is the only way that I can get dinner made. She also loves to play in the bathroom sink while I do her hair in the mornings, but as you can tell by these pictures her hair did not get "done" that day.
And we noticed that we were matching so we took a picture.
I realized a couple weeks ago that I had not taken any pictures of just McKay with both Adalyn and Jensen, so one night before scripture time with fixed that and snapped a few pictures. Adalyn sure loves her daddy these days and he is very helpful with both of them. We love having our daddy around.
Last Monday night we had Adalyn's first official "Family Home Evening". Now this doesn't mean that she has never been to FHE before this was just the first time that we had done a lesson on her level. Before last Monday we had just been doing adult lessons for us mixed in with a few primary songs since we figured that she was really too little to understand anything that was going on. She would just play at our feet while we had the lesson. But now that she is going to nursery we have started having lessons that involve her more. I did the lesson on Noah's ark since she loves animals and at the end of the lesson we colored pictures.
The past two weeks we have been sick around our house. Mostly it has just been Adalyn, and boy is she a hand full when she is sick! She has been sleeping terribly and needing constant attention during the day. She is basically all better now and we are excited to have our sweet little girl back (And our sleep back).
"Mom stop taking pictures and just hold me"...
"Fine if you won't hold me then I will just fall asleep right here"... (she kept doing this all week, and if you know Adalyn she NEVER sleeps anywhere besides her crib so it was very unusual for her)
In the beginning we thought that her sickness was more than just a virus so the doctor put her on Amoxicillin, and we soon discovered that she is allergic to it... This same thing happened to my sister when she was Adalyn's age so I knew as soon as I saw the rash what it was. We then took her another doctor and discovered that her sickness really was a virus and she never even needed the Amoxicillin to begin with. Kind of frustrating, but at least we know now so that it won't happen in the future. The rash didn't show up until she had been on the medicine for 8 days, but then over night it exploded all over her body. We then put her on Claritin and it has pretty much all gone away now. Luckily it didn't itch her so she was happy through the whole thing, but she still looked pretty scary...
Today life gets back to normal after a busy weekend of prepping for Jensen's blessing. It was a beautiful day and we are so grateful to all of the family that came. I will write another post on that soon... hopefully. Have a good night! (I know I will because I get to go to Zumba!)
