A Few Friday Thoughts

We haven't left the house ALL week (except for the doctors office).  I am pretty sure we did the same thing last week too.  Not being able to leave the house with my newborn has probably been the hardest adjustment for me since Jensen was born.  There are definitely pros and cons to having a winter baby and this is a definite CON.  Before he came Adalyn and I went someone almost every day just to get out.  Usually it was the library or the park or target, but we always went *somewhere*.  I am hoping that I am not the only one that doesn't get out these days since if you do you will probably catch the flu or a cold... or both.  But I wouldn't know if I was the only one since I don't go ANYWHERE (ok that is a little dramatic, I went to Zumba twice :).

So since I feel a little out of touch with the world (which isn't always a bad thing) we have just doing our own thing...  So what have WE been up to these days:

-being sick (totally not cool, but I *think* we are all on the mend)
- Making yummy dinners.  I have been a good wife and got back to making bread, green smoothies, and yummy dinners.  Definitely the ONLY area of my life that I feel accomplished in these days.  Clean house/kitchen... not so much.
-saving money.  Since we don't go anywhere, we don't spend money.  McKay also just did an  overhaul on our budget that I am doing fairly well at following it.  Plus who knew that when you have a baby you can MAKE money (I sure didn't, but it was very cool!)
-enjoying the sunshine.  Adalyn and I were able to make it outside a few minutes each day during Jensen's nap and those few minutes were lovely.  Made me very excited to start running soon.  Please say we aren't going to have anymore snow for awhile.  Oh wait it is snowig RIGHT now...dang
- ok my babies are calling me, better go.  Sorry it is SO short.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

  1. And how are you "making money" with having a baby?

    1. Nicole, I was pretty shocked myself that we made money. Our goal was just to "break even" but it worked out that we made a little bit. We have a second insurance plan that we pay for each month and then when I go into the hospital they give us money (I don't think this kind of insurance plan is available in Utah). Also our hospital will give you a 20% discount off the bill if you pay it in full all at once. So with those two benefits and our regular insurance we were able to make a little bit of money. :)

    2. It is available through Aflac with some employers...but you can't get it on your own. They realized that they lose more money in Utah because of so many babies being born!
