A Virtuous Woman...More Precious than Rubies

I love this scripture and it has been a guide in my life many times when temptations around me have blurred my view and tempted me to make desicions that were not so virtuous. It continues to be a favorite of mine today and has been on my mind a lot lately since we are preparing to have a little girl of our own and I was thinking about how I can teach her to be a virtuous woman. So when we moved into our new apartment I began searching for the perfect way to use this saying in my home. But as each idea came into my mind I quickly turned it down because it just wasn't that 'perfect' thing.

But even though I didn't have the perfect idea, my amazing mother did and I couldn't help but share it with all of you. She got the idea from President Hinckley's daughter when she spoke at a fireside so you know that it is a good idea :) So for mothers day my mom made this for her mom...

Isn't it beautiful? I think so. It goes back five generations (from my grandma) to the first woman in her family to join the LDS church back in the 1800s. She then brought her family to America, crossed the plains and then finally settled in Utah. That is six generations of strong and virtuous women! It is definitely a testimony building experience to know that I come from such strong and noble roots. My mom did an excellent job at the presentation of it. She was able to do the whole thing on her Adobe Photoshop program that she uses for digital scrapbooking and then print it out as one big picture. So Cool!

So needless to say I now know how I am going to use the saying in my home. :)Thanks mom for coming up with the 'perfect' idea and for teaching me about how to be a virtuous woman. Hope everyone is having a great day! Thanks for reading!

  1. That's awesome! I hadn't heard about that Mother's Day present, I love it! You'll do a great job, Kajsa, teaching about being a virtuous woman.
