Time for another post

Ok lets all pretend that I am not really writing a post about LAST weekend when we are already well into THIS weekend. Anyways, LAST weekend we started off by heading to Provo to help out McKay's mom with her garage roof. Jesse and Natalie came with us so ofcourse it was really fun, even if it was VERY hot. While the men (that is what us wives have to call our husbands now since they were brave and worked on a extremely hot roof for several hours) :) worked on the roof the ladies/wives helped out in the front yard by mowing and edging her lawn. And even though we were not professionals I think it turned out pretty good and we had fun while we did it. Then later that night after the boys finished the roof, we headed up north to McKay's brother's birthday party. We ate yummy food and played a couple games of volleyball with his new volleyball set. It was the first time that we had done a full volleyball game with his family and I have to say that it was a ton of fun just laughing and joking around together. Thanks Michelle for planning the party, it was really fun! Now for a few pictures before I finish talking about our weekend adventures...

On Sunday after church we went over to Jesse and Natalie's brand new and amazingly decorated apartment for a old roomate reunion. For this dinner I made homemade rolls for my very first time and they turned out great! Thanks Michelle for the recipe I love it! And I think that you got it from Candace, so thank you Candace too! After the dinner we all played Trans America, and ate yummy eclare cake. The reunion turned out great and I definitely think we should do it again when David and Shantel can come too, we missed you guys!
Here is Kyle(McKay's old roomate) who just married Chelsea (my old roomate) Cool huh? Love them!

Thanks for reading, come back soon because I have lots more to post!

Bear Lake in a Day

This past wednesday we took a slight break from our jobs and went to Bear Lake with my mom's family. It was SO fun and very relaxing after stressing so much about my classroom and everything. That morning my mom came up and picked us up and we got to the lake about 9:00 am. Nobody else was there yet and if you were lucky to be one of the first ones on the waverunners then you got to see tons of huge fish swimming near the top of the water. (after a few minutes they all dove down to take cover from the scary humans!) My mom's family LOVES waverunners, especially trying to see who can dunk who. :) This was McKay's first time EVER going on a waverunner, and he was a really good sport at letting me dunk him on his very first ride. Along with the waverunners we played on the water tramp, ate food, built sand castles, and buried cousins in the sand. McKay ofcourse was the little cousins favorite person to go on waverunner rides with and dig REALLY big holes in the sand with. Thanks McKay for being so fun! Oh and to prove how much they love him, here is a funny story. So my little cousin and I were sitting on the water tramp and we were both waiting for McKay to come back on the waverunner. And while this little cousin was waving and saying Akay!(that is how he says McKay) Akay! he turns to me and asks "What is your name?" My response was very nicely It is Kajsa, I am your cousin, but inside I was laughing hysterically! I mean I am the one that has known him since birth and who is his actual cousin and here he doesn't even know my name, but McKay who has only been around for a little while is one of his best buddies. Man, I really need to start building more sandcastles to start earning some brownie points! Lol I am really just kidding I actually secretly or maybe not so secretly love watching McKay with all the little kids and I love that they love playing with him.
So anyways, moving on, after hanging out at the Lake all day we went and got the famous raspberry shakes and then headed back to Logan. It was a great day and thanks Fry family for planning it!

Two Years ago...

Two years ago I was a brand spanking new college freshmen. I was ready for the new adventure that life was throwing to me, but yet still a little nervous. At the time I was also training for the Top of Utah Marathon and I was about five weeks away from the actual marathon and I had been training for months. That same week I moved to college... I got sick. Probably a little more sick than the average cold, but I definitely was not lying on my death bed. Yet I allowed myself to feel/believe like I was , and so because I felt SO SICK I quit the marathon. Looking back now I was probably just very overwhelmed with school, new job, new roomates, new town with no familiar running paths, no mom/marathon training supporter, and I was also sick. When marathon day actually came I was heart broken that I wasn't out there doing it and I promised myself that I would eventually be out there running it.

Flashforward two years. Today as I sit here writing this I am about five weeks away from my goal. YAY!! Next week I will run twenty miles and that is the fartherest that I have ever run, BUT it will not be the most because three weeks after that I WILL run 26.2 miles and FINALLY reach my goal. This has been a day that I have been dreading/dreaming about it for a VERY long time.

So cold, flu, or whatever you are that I am feeling in my body today... you are not welcome here, and even if you do decide to stay you will not be able to stop me again from reaching my goal. So you might as well just go away. Please?

Saturday Projects

Hey everybody, here is another preschool post again. Sorry if you are sick of hearing about it, but that is all I am thinking about right now so bare with me for another week. Pretty please? (here is where I just pretend that you said yes) So anyway today I went to a five hour CDA class in the morning and then this afternoon McKay and I decided that we needed a project to keep us entertained. So we headed over to good old D.I. to see if we could find anything to fix, create, change, and/or paint. When we were heading there we were both thinking along the ideas of something for the house, but as I said previously my mind is in preschool mode so this is what I/we found instead...
A cute little table and chairs to go in the dramatic play area at work! It was prefect! We brought it home, McKay sanded the old paint down and then next week we are going to repaint it either red or purple.
Also while McKay was finishing up the table sanding I started working on another project that I had planned a few weeks ago. It was with wooden letters that spelled out the name of my classroom that I am going to hang over the door. I painted them purple and then tied the CUTEST light blue ribbon. I love the way that they turned out...

Along with our projects we also made dinner somewhere in the mix and it just looked so pretty that I just HAD to take a picture of it. (and with our schedules these days it is pretty rare that I even planned dinner and it is even more rare that we were both there eating at the same time) MMMM! Tasty!

That is about it folks, McKay is off to work today for the second, third, or maybe fourth time... I loose track. But special thanks McKay for visiting a few different craft stores today, just because I wanted to look around and for getting just as excited about preschool projects as I do. Also thank you, thank you for cleaning the bathroom and for doing all the dishes. I am one lucky girl. :)

Well, that is all for tonight, I am off to watch a movie... Thanks for reading!

I hope I got enough...

Preschool starts in two weeks from today, I hope I can get ready by then! But I am sure having fun buying, creating, and designing all the fun things that we are going to do, it should be a great year! Have a great day.

Changes

Ok everyone I have been a little bit hesitent to write this post, partly because it wasn't offical and partly because I had to get used to the idea first. But I am now more confident than ever that it is the right thing for me right now.
So here it goes... I have decided to take a break from USU for now and focus on getting my CDA (Child Development Associates). While I am working towards my CDA I will continue working at my same job full time and then take the classes for it at night and on the weekend. I have actually already started some of my classes and I can't even tell you how much I have already begun to learn from the classes and they will be so helpful in my preschool classroom at work.
Oh and for those of you that do not know what the CDA program is, it is a certification especially designed for preschool teachers that compiles training classes, a resource file, and experience working with kids into one credential that is valid in all 50 states. That best way that I can explain it without going into too much detail. But basically I just LOVE working with preschool kids and with this certification I can continue doing that and then possibly have my own preschool in the future. So for the next few months I will be crazy busy with classes, work, and marathon training and my goal is to finish up the CDA program by March 1st. wahoo! I am very excited to now see the light at the end of the tunnel and even though I can't believe I wont be at USU anymore I know that this is the best thing for me right now. Oh and ofcourse McKay will be finishing out his last year and then graduate in May. YAY! I am very excited for him! Well that is all of the exciting changes for now, thanks for reading!

Camping Weekend

Hey friends, so this past weekend we went with Jesse and Natalie on a nice relaxing camping trip. We left Friday in the late afternoon and then got home on Saturday afternoon. Short and sweet! While there we played in the FREEZING river, had chicken salad sandwiches for dinner, build an amazing fire, had a great time laughing and talking, tried out our brand new tent, and actually got some descent sleep thanks to the fact that I had run 16 miles earlier that day so I was EXHAUSTED. Yep... that pretty much sums it up and if I wasn't so tired, mentally drained, and impatient to go to bed since i have to get up at five AM then I might add some more life into this post, but that is just not the case tonight. But we did have a VERY enjoyable time and I am sure glad we went before life got busy. Thanks Jesse and Natalie for hanging out with us, and here are some pictures for your enjoyment. Thanks for reading!
