Ok everyone I have been a little bit hesitent to write this post, partly because it wasn't offical and partly because I had to get used to the idea first. But I am now more confident than ever that it is the right thing for me right now.
So here it goes... I have decided to take a break from USU for now and focus on getting my CDA (Child Development Associates). While I am working towards my CDA I will continue working at my same job full time and then take the classes for it at night and on the weekend. I have actually already started some of my classes and I can't even tell you how much I have already begun to learn from the classes and they will be so helpful in my preschool classroom at work.
Oh and for those of you that do not know what the CDA program is, it is a certification especially designed for preschool teachers that compiles training classes, a resource file, and experience working with kids into one credential that is valid in all 50 states. That best way that I can explain it without going into too much detail. But basically I just LOVE working with preschool kids and with this certification I can continue doing that and then possibly have my own preschool in the future. So for the next few months I will be crazy busy with classes, work, and marathon training and my goal is to finish up the CDA program by March 1st. wahoo! I am very excited to now see the light at the end of the tunnel and even though I can't believe I wont be at USU anymore I know that this is the best thing for me right now. Oh and ofcourse McKay will be finishing out his last year and then graduate in May. YAY! I am very excited for him! Well that is all of the exciting changes for now, thanks for reading!
Just make sure you keep the certificates of your classes. The career ladder and the money it brings you from taking the CDA's....it's good stuff. Good Luck!!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to make those decisions so I'm proud of you :) It was really hard for me to decide to stop going to "real college" and go into cosmetology instead. It'll be worth it if it's really what you want, which is sounds like it is. good luck dear! You'll be great :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it a pain making all these grown-up decisions? But it sounds like you're doing just fine... I just wish someone would have told me about this CDA program back when I was newly married and trying to find my direction in life. Sounds great though. Good luck!
