Throwing Rocks

The kids had a daddy weekend this weekend.  I went to my first ever winter campout with the Young Women and McKay stayed home and watched the kids.  It was his first time ever having to watch the kids for a full 24 hours on his own.  I was excited for him to experience it, yet it didn't even phase him and I am pretty sure I would have to leave for a whole week or two before he would get tired.  The guy is a machine I tell ya!  When HE goes out of town I have small panic attacks the whole week before just thinking about having to be alone with the kids for that long.  Although the house was a disaster when I got home which is pretty unusual for him (usually he has it spotless when I get home) so maybe it did phase him a little bit. :)

But I am glad all was well when I got home, and that it was 50 degrees on Saturday afternoon.  So lovely!

Then Sunday came with 9 am church, throw in a time change and it was brutal waking up in the morning.  3 1/2 hour naps were in order after church.

Here are a few pictures of the kids racing daddy down the driveway after church and throwing rocks into our ever growing rock pile.  Like I said, the weather was so nice!  I wish we had gone on a walk that day, but by the time naps were over we weren't quite feeling up to it.

In other news, we took Jensen's binky away this weekend.  The boy had gotten pretty attached to it over the last few weeks so his adjustment to life without a binky has been a little more rough then Adalyn's was (we took hers away right at 12 months and she did great and adjusted super fast).  But on the bright side he actually sleeps better at night now without it so that makes up for the few minutes of fussing at nap time.  Sorry buddy, growing up can be hard!

And while the binky is gone the blanket is not.  He loves these swaddling blankets and has taken to sucking it when he needs a little extra comfort.  Kids do weird things!

 Happy Tuesday!
