Recently we changed Adalyn's crib to a toddler bed and moved a few things around. Doing those few changes motivated me to continue working on her room.
My first project for her room was a homemade piece of art. No I am no artist, but I saw this and thought I could handle something like it.
So months ago when we were at Home Depot I picked up a few paint chips to make this art piece. I even cut the paint chips into circles (I decided to use free paint chips instead of buying different colors of paint to make the circles), but then the project sat for months and months on my craft table waiting for me to find a good deal on canvas. Finally I found these two canvas boards on clearance at Micheals for $3.99 for 2 so I bought them and finished the project. Originally I planned on using just 1 really large canvas but I realized that they are pretty expensive so I decided to tweek the project and use 2 canvas side by side.
Here is the final product hanging in Adalyn's room...
(Sorry I had to use the flash... grrr!)
I used a brown sharpie paint marker from Michaels for the branches and then glued the paint chip circles on with modge podge. I didn't do anything to the canvas first, but you could paint it a different color. I wanted mine white so it worked well. Here are a few more pictures of it next to the shelves in her room.
Here are a few pictures of it not edited. Can't tell which ones I like better...
Well now one wall is done in her room. On to the next 3 (lol) Have a good day!
Oh I love it so much! Very well done.
