Life as a one year old

Here is a quick update on Adalyn, her stats, and the little things about her right now.  I know I WILL forget them overtime so I want to write them down.

At her doctors appointment she weighed 22 lbs (I guessed it before we went in) and I can't remember her exact height but she was in the 98% for her age in height.  (yeah we knew she was tall)

She obviously hated the shots at her doctors appointment, but the nurse quickly pulled out the dum dums and all of a sudden she was just fine (amazing what sugar can do for this girl).  But then on our way out we saw the other nurse that helped give her the shots and Adalyn wouldn't even move, she just glared at the nurse. (haha)  Finally I just picked her up and headed out.

Adalyn has 5 teeth on the bottom and none on top, this is making me a little bit concerned (sure hope she at least has teeth on the top even if they aren't showing yet)

We are totally off on her sleeping from our crazy summer schedule.  Since we forced her on so many days during the summer to only have one short nap a day like when we were camping or at a wedding and so now she feels that that is all she needs.  So now she sleeps from about 9:00pm-7:00am and then has a nap around 11:00am.  That is it, can't believe our baby is growing up.

Her favorite things are baby dolls, pushing strollers or anything else baby related.  She is going to love when we pull out all the baby supplies for this next baby.  Maybe we should buy two of everything...one for her and one for baby boy.

Unlike when she was born she now loves to cuddle with mommy.  She gives the best hugs and now knows how to do closed mouth kisses.  :)  She also loves to sit on the bathroom counter while I do my hair and make up.  She is going to be such a girly girl.

She now wears size 12-18 month clothes and is almost in size 5 shoes.  No more shopping in the baby clothes section for us. :(

No more binkys, and she jabbers non stop.  Today she said la la la... over and over again.  So cute to listen to her figure out how to talk.

Eating...hmmm, not doing too much of this unless it involves sugar or milk.  She enjoys meat, fruit, pasta, graham crackers, and homemade bread.  That is pretty much it.  Funny story, the other day at dinner we were having leftovers and she wouldn't eat anything that we gave her.  Finally I was just holding while I finished eating and she grabbed a piece of steak off my plate and just started chewing the thing to death.  We watched her closely with it since it is definitely a choking hazard but the poor girl just needed something to bite down on (she got three teeth last week).  Guess everything we gave her was too soft...

She loves playing chase with daddy or climbing up and down the stairs.  Singing has always been what calms her down and it is still a favorite of hers.  She hates it when I am on the computer and will always pull my hand away from it.

Basically to sum Adalyn up at this stage I would just say busy, busy, busy.  These last few months of her being the only child should be fun watching her grow and develop.  Being a big sister will be a hard transition for her since she can't even share mommy with daddy, but she will catch on soon enough and then they will be great friends.  Here are a few pictures of her, such a fun stage!

This is her new ride from Grandma and Grandpa that she got for her birthday.  There were literally squeals and screaming involved when we pulled it out of the box.  Needless to say she LOVES it.

Eating corn off the floor with daddy after mommy made a mess cutting it off the cob to freeze it.  She normally doesn't eat vegetables so when she started eating it off the floor I wasn't about to stop her.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Oreos are yummy!

She is getting such a big personality, and SO dramatic.  We are excited for her to learn to talk...hopefully less screaming will be involved at that point. :)

Last week daddy worked in town so we got to have lunch with him on a few of the days at the park. Adalyn sat right next to daddy the whole time. She was very excited to see him each time we drove up to the park.

I think I got my pictures to finally upload (in a roundabout way) hopefully it continues to work :)  Have a great day!
