Books, Movies, and Noses

Adalyn has been loving books lately.  I will often find her in her room "reading" a book outloud to herself in her own little voice.  As a mom these are some of the moments that I cherish and I really hope that she develops a love for reading and books because I know that I sure love them.  Another common sight in our house is Adalyn and I in the living room her playing with her toys on the floor and me on the couch either resting or reading a book.  She does not like to be left alone but I have found that she will play quietly for awhile as long and I am sitting (not cleaning, tried that one already) near her.
This week I have been reading the Ensign (The Ensign is a monthly magazine that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints puts out.  Inside it has faith strengthening articles and news about the church around the world.  Click here if you would like to know more) since the October issue just arrived and Adalyn kept begging me to let her "read" it too.  I finally gave her a older one and she LOVED looking at the pictures and doing the same thing that mommy was doing.

Notice the tears and snot?  Yeah I finally came up with this solution *after* a few tears.  Amazing how quickly the world can fall apart for a one year old. :)

Also (now please don't judge that my child watches TV) Adalyn is now to the point that she will watch a movie for a few minutes.  Before she wouldn't even look up long enough to watch at all and this mama was getting nervous about what I would do on some of those LONG winter days when we can't go outside... But she is starting to enjoy it a little more and it has been fun watching a couple of the old Disney movies that I watched as a kid.

Speaking of entertaining this crazy busy little girl... we had to get a little bit creative the other day and so I pulled out her old bumbo that she really didn't like as a baby and she has loved climbing in and out of it.  (love the wild hair?  Yeah it has a mind of its own)

And last but not least Addie discovered that she had a few holes in her head yesterday at dinner...

First her ear

Then her nose

And last of all her eye

Well there are a few more pictures of the highlight of our lives.  Have a great day!
