The Joy of Family

This weekend McKay's sister Leslie got married!  It was oh so fun and exciting.  To be completely honest I was a little stressed heading to Utah this weekend.  It was our third trip in three weeks and I was tired of that 3+ hour drive But it turned out to be WAY fun and very special memories were made.  The wedding day was Friday and it was a packed day, but luckily we were able to get a babysitter for the wedding and luncheon (thanks Brady!)  So those parts were lovely and kid free.  Here are a few pictures from outside the temple, it was a warm day, but not too bad.

We went to Benihana's for the luncheon, it was my first time ever going there and it was so cool.  Our cook was really good and friendly which added to the whole experience.

It was Laron and Michelle anniversary that day too so the cook made a heart out of the rice before serving it. (it is hard to see the heart because it is upside down, but you get the idea)
The reception that night was like a carnival with tons of food, candy, complete with a photo booth (love those).  Leslie looked stunning in her dress and I wish that I got a better picture of it.  This is the best that I have...

Her colors were teal and fushia. They got Adalyn a really cute dress along with all of the other grandkids. It was so darling to see them all dressed up.

After the wedding we helped clean up the bulk of the decorations. It was a late night and my feet were dying by the end, you can bet we all slept well that night :) We stayed in Evanston that night so the next morning was a lazy one for everyone after the busy day before. We had a great chat with McKay's parents and siblings over breakfast about life and family. It was really nice to get their opinion on a few things and it REALLY made me wish that we could go there more often. They loved playing with Adalyn and she loved all of Grandma's fun toys. Then around noon (yeah it was a VERY lazy morning) we finally decided to get to work before the cow's udder exploded (seriously, the cow NEEDED to be milked, poor thing) most of us headed back to the church to clean up the rest of the decorations and food from the night before. After cleaning we decided to head home so that it wasn't midnight when we got there. On our way home we made a few stops, but we still got there around eleven so we beat curfew ;) It was a fun weekend and Father's Day the next day made it even better. But I will post about that later. Have a great day!
