Hill Air Force Base Museum
Last weekend after hanging out with the cousins we headed over to Hill Air Force Base to check out their planes that the museum. McKay had never been there (that he could remember) and I thought that it would be a fun *free* family outing. When we got there it was PACKED, which it is normally almost empty, we asked the nice soldiers directing traffic what was going on and they said that they were having a food drive/open house at the museum. They do it on the third saturday in September every year. SWEET! It was like a carnival, food, prizes, and a car show. The best part was that since it was such a big day most of the planes were open to tour (normally there are two or three open). Also there were lots of volunteers that could answer all of your questions (mostly McKay did the asking because he actually knew what questions to ask). It was great weather and made for a relaxing family outing. I am so glad that we were able to go on such a perfect day, here are a few pictures from our adventure...Adalyn did so great on our whole trip until the last twenty minutes of our drive home and then she lost it. ha ha poor girl screamed! when she gets upset she goes all red faced, tenses up her body and sweats A LOT. When we finally got her out of her carseat and calmed down she was freezing and exhausted so McKay put her in our bed and covered her with blankets. She was in heaven. Here she is all cuddled up...Well that is it for now, have a great weekend!

First Cousin Sleepover
This past weekend we drove to Utah and spent the night at McKay's brother's house. This was Adalyn's first time meeting any of her cousins. I loved playing with all of my cousins as a kid and I can't wait for Adalyn to be able to get to know hers more too. Skyler and Kimberley were so good with Adalyn, probably because they have a baby sister, Bailey, who is two monthes older than her. It is so fun to have cousins so close in age!
While at their house the dad's went and played tennis while the women chatted, we watched the movie 17 Miracles (so good and so sad), ate lots of yummy food, and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows over a fire in their backyard. Adalyn did really well even with all of the extra noise that she wasn't quite used to. So thanks Laron and Michelle for letting us come spend the night at your house. It definitely made our weekend more exciting!
All the kids posing for a picture... And since Adalyn and Bailey are so close in age we just had to see how they "measure up" (Adalyn wouldn't keep her legs down). It is amazing how much they can change in three months! So cute :) Oh and Kimberley wanted to get in on the pictures too. She is 18 months older than Bailey. Wow they change fast!
Then after we left their house we headed over to Hill Air force Base museum to check out the air planes. But I am out of time so I will post about that another time. Have a great day!

THANK YOU sweet girl
Thank you Adalyn for being my daughter.
Thank you for turning our world upside down and changing it for the better.
Thank you for the new challenges as your daddy and I figure out how to focus on each other and be parents.
Thank you for waking me up last night so that I could spend a little more time with you.
Thank you for your random smiles.
Thank you for crying when I walk away from you.
Thank you for letting me dress you up all day.
Thank you for the new perspective that you have given me in life.
Thank you for choosing me to be your mommy.
And I am sorry that I woke you up from your nap today just so that I could snuggle with you.
Today I ran across a few blogs of families who have had children pass away. Ofcourse tears were involved as a read their testimonies of forever families and their experiences of how they grieve and move forward with their lives. It made me so grateful for a heathly baby and husband. Things can change in an instant and I hope I can cherish each moment.

All Smiles
The last two days have been SO fun with Adalyn. She has been such a good baby. She has slept a TON, ate really well, started making cute little noises, and lots of smiles. We are so in love!

1 month old
Adalyn had her 1 month appointment at the doctors yesterday. Technically though she won't be a month old till this weekend (phew! I thought that seemed a little fast ;) Her stats are as follows... (kinda funny that we post these, definitely won't be posting my "stats" anytime soon, sorry Adalyn I will only do it for the first year of your life)
Weight: 10lbs exactly, she is in the 76 percentile
Length: 22 inchs- 80 percentile
Head: 15 1/2 inchs- 80 something percentile
A few other fun things about Adalyn...
She is starting to be more awake
She is waking up about once a night (usually it is around the time McKay leaves for work, so secretly I think she just wants to say good bye)
She is getting pretty good at holding her head up but isn't very stable yet
She LOVES the sound of my voice :) She will sit and listen to McKay and I talk for a long time
Likes to just be with us, crys when we leave her alone unless she is asleep
Started out as a binky girl but will only suck on it occasionally now so we will see what she decides to do.
LOVES her vibrating bouncer. THANK YOU THANK YOU Brent and Heather it is a life saver! I told McKay yesterday that if we had the money I would put one of those in every room in my house.
Doesn't like her swing (maybe next month)
Enjoys being dressed and getting dressed (a girl after my own heart)
Gets fussy in the evenings, thank heavens that McKay is home at that point to trade off walking the hallway with :)
Well that is about it, she is healthy and happy. It is amazing what she has taught us in a few short weeks. I am learning so much about myself, families, joy, and God's plan for us on this earth. I am so grateful that I get to stay home with her and work on being a mother. McKay wonders each night about how I do it all day long (he says it would drive him crazy). I just say it is a good thing you love your job and I love mine. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
And because a post is not complete without a picture I thought I would share this picture that my aunt Heather sent to me of my cousin and Adalyn. Two of my favorite people :) Have a great day!

Adalyn's blessing
We blessed Adalyn on Sunday and it was PERFECT. She was an angel through the whole meeting and especially through her blessing. McKay did a great job and I was a very proud mother. :) Her dress fit her perfectly and I seriously wanted to cry every time I looked at her that day, she was just so beautiful and I couldn't get over how cute she looked! Thanks to all of the family that came and supported us on this important day, it meant a lot to us. Here are a few pictures of her in her dress...Us with our sweet baby girl...Family...Thanks for reading and I hope you have a great day!

A Day Off
Yesterday McKay took the day off work to stay home and babysit Adalyn. While he had a day off work I also got to take the day off (in between feedings). I went and got my hair done, we went out to dinner together, I got a nap, and went shopping. It is amazing how much more "fun" things are when you are not 9 months pregnant. I definitely enjoyed it. Thanks McKay for staying home and keeping our daughter happy and safe. Here is daddy and daughter all ready for their day together (McKay took babysitting VERY seriously)... I loved my mini vacation and can't wait to do it again sometime. But today it is back to normal and I get to spend all day with this little beauty. Yes grandma you can be jealous :)
