Jensen Turns 2!

December 27, 2014 Jensen Boy turned 2!  I love having a two year old birthday!  They are excited about anything that you do for them, yet they expect nothing.  Wish we could all stay that way.

We had a basketball themed party for him.  Or at least that is what the theme evolved into throughout the day.  There was no set theme before hand.

The main activity for the day was going with my family to a BYU basketball game.  Now I would have picked a Utah State game as my first choice, but Logan was too far away so we went with the second best choice.  :)

Before we went to the game we had a homemade Mac and Cheese bar for lunch.  Some of the toppings we had were sausage, hotdogs, broccoli, and roasted peppers.  We all love homemade mac and cheese so I figured it was a safe option for a 2 year olds birthday dinner.

After lunch we opened presents.  He got a little people race car track (which is SO awesome, we all love it) and a play tent that you put play balls into.

Adalyn was also very excited for Jensen's gifts.

After presents we headed to the game.

The game was pretty crowded so Jensen spent most of his time running the halls, but he had a BLAST doing it.  Seriously he was in heaven, so I considered it a good activity.  Sadly BYU lost, but they put up a good fight so it was an exciting game to watch.  Adalyn on the other hand really got into the game and had lots of fun cheering BYU on.  SO cute!

That night we went to my aunt and uncles house in Alpine to have cake and icecream.  They had watched Declin for us while we went to the game so it was only right that we shared our cake. :)

The cake was basketball themed too.

it was super easy and fun to make.

Blowing out his candles (don't mind the cake, it "settled" in the car on the way to their house)

Yummy!

Happy Birthday Jensen boy!

Here he is showing you his "two"

Some things about Jensen at this age.

He loves his mommy.  He wants to be held pretty much all the time, but expecially when I am taking care of Declin or making dinner.

He loves water and will often spend a while in the bathroom playing in the sink.  Bath time, best time of the day.  Sometimes he even jumps in with his cloths on, ok that was just one time...

Terrible sleeper.  Period.  Mess up his routine and you have a screaming child at 2 am.  Only thing that calms him down is me holding him for the rest of the night.  blah!  not fun.  Sleep is a very delicate balance with him.

His favorite words are "I do".  He wants to be independent.  If he is eating something he wants to do it himself including hold the package of whatever he is eating, hold his own cup, etc.  He is really trying to be big!

He started talking around 22 months and strangers can almost understand him now.  We know what he is saying, but lots of words still sound the same.  He also doesn't say "yes" he says"sure".  My favorite words that he says are "sure" and "gankee" (means blankie).  I could listen to him say them all day!

Favorite food is probably pancakes or graham crackers.  He is at that 2 year old picky stage so you never really know what he will eat.

Loves playing chase with daddy and Adalyn around the house.  He will run around yelling "get her!" while chasing Adalyn.

He is a sweetheart and will continually ask me throughout the day if I am "ok" (such as if I cough or make a weird sound).

He gets lots of comments on his clothes.  I have to admit that I love dressing him.  He is just such a little stud.  McKay's brother told me "Jensen is such a good dresser, he always has the most stylish clothes."  Oh yeah he totally picks out his own clothes and everything. ;)

He loves saying the prayer and following Adalyn wherever she goes.

We love you Jensen Boy!

p.s. he thought he was so funny when he was lifting his shirt up while I was trying to take his picture.  Such a tease, just like his daddy!
