Showers

Hello, how is everyone doing?  Good?  I hope so.  Life here continues to flow.  January isn't usually the most exciting month... throw in a new baby who can't really leave the house yet and you have a VERY uneventful month.  We are passing the time with reading books and watching movies (I have given up my shame in this, what can I say?  We are in survival mode till the good weather comes back).  I think I watched Peter Pan 5 times last week.  But there is one good thing with this slow pace of life and that is that the transition from one child to two has been a smooth one and I am just about ready to get back into the swing of things such as piano lessons, babysitting, exercising, etc.  I truly am feeling great, mentally, physically, and emotionally (probably mostly because I had a nap today).  I hope things continue to go well, I guess it is up to me and whatever attitude I decide to have about it.

Anyways... this weekend started out kind of lame with McKay having to work Friday and Saturday when he normally gets those days off (or at least every other Friday), but ended on a high note with my parents coming up Sunday night till Monday afternoon for a quick visit.  Jensen got to meet Grandpa and Adalyn got some pretty great one on one time with them.  Jensen was an angel the whole time and LOVED being held almost 24/7 and Adalyn was kind of a little monster, but we realized towards the end that she was actually getting sick so that probably had something to do with the whiney behavior.  She now has a fairly high temp. and body aches so we are just praying that Jensen doesn't get it too.

Here is Grandpa holding Jensen.  Aren't they both so handsome :)

Grandparents. Grandkids.

And on a random note... Adalyn has upgraded from baths to showers.  Don't ask me how she grew up so fast I am in shock myself.  :)  McKay the crazy daddy tried out the shower one evening and apparently she loved it.  So we have been giving her showers all by herself since then.  They go a lot faster than baths and she is hilarious to watch while she takes them!  We could never get her to sit down in the bath anyways so showers work out a lot better for everyone.  She loves to carry the wash cloth around the whole time and squeezes the water out of it just like Mommy and Daddy do.  She also likes to play with a cup and bounce up and down.  We do have toys for her to play with while she is in there but she has never been interested in them and usually chooses to just walk around and hold the wash cloth.  We may go back to baths for her when Jensen gets upgraded from the baby tub to the real tub and they can go in together, but for now we are just doing showers with her.

Hope you are having a great day!
