Busy Life

Update: I wrote this post last week and right in the middle of it McKay's computer crashed (mine crashed a few months ago) So we are currently computerless until we save up the money to buy a new one. I am trying to be really patient until we get a new one, it is hard when I feel like the computer was my connection to the outside world (I wish we could just declare this an emergency and use the emergency funds lol jk) So hopefully we will have another one soon! But enjoy this post in the mean time!

Hello! Sorry I didn't post over the weekend I just never could drag myself to the computer long enough to down load the pics. Life has been busy, as it seems it has been for everyone (I haven't seem many updates from very many people the past few weeks, probably the nice weather is to blame). We have been planning and prepping to start finishing our yard. And luckily with our tax return we might actually be able to to do a few things like put in a sprinkler system :P (not my favorite thing, but I guess it has to be done) I love this nice weather too, but am a little worried about what the side effects will be from it (food prices going up, wild fires, water shortage?) Hopefully we will continue to get some moisture. Adalyn also turned 7 months old on the 10th. She started really crawling the day before that and is now quite fast (when she wants to be). She also pulls herself up on shorter things and in her crib. She loves her crib right now and will play forever in there. Here are a few pictures of her.
She loves to climb all over me and she also loves that now she can crawl she can follow me all over the house. It is sort of like having a puppy. :) Always there at your feet...

Notice the thumb? Yeah I am ignoring it and hope it goes away (but secretly I think it is really cute, she sticks it back in her mouth between each bite when I feed her, just to get a taste lol) silly girl Well that is all for today! Have a great day!

Rut

This week I was in a rut. You know those "My life isn't very exciting right now...I need a change, BUT I don't have any energy to do it... I changed a bazillion diapers, cleaned the house, made dinner, and did the laundry and no one cares so why did I do it?" kind of weeks. Everyone gets down on themselves every once in awhile. But yesterday I decided I was done being moody and needed to shape up/change. All day long I literally felt like I was pulling myself out of a hole. My body and mind fought it, but finally by last night I felt like I had made it out (this nice weather that we are having was a huge help) I was excited that I had been able to consciously make a change like that. While I was choosing (or forcing myself) to be happy I was reminded of this quote by Martha Washington...
"I am determined to be cheerful and happy in whatever situation I may be; for I have learned from experience that the greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our disposition and not upon our circumstances.”
Martha Washington
It felt good and I am excited for the weekend. Up first, Temple date with McKay (since those are the ONLY dates seem to go on these days I am looking forward to it :)  Happy Weekend Everyone!  (Well I might be back at some point this weekend in celebration of our cute 7 month who is crawling and becoming an avid thumb sucker (oh my!))

She Steals my Heart

Ok guys, we LOVE Adalyn... no really it is just crazy how cute she is. :) I love being her mom and getting to see her whole personality. She is getting so strong and so smart. It is like she turned six months old and just started developing at a super fast pace. I had heard that six months old is when they start to get really fun, and it is SO true. Love this stage. Some of the things that she has started doing are standing up to things (she can't do anything once she is there because she is too busy hanging on for dear life so that she doesn't fall) She can pull herself up to standing position on a few things like her toy box and on to mommy's lap :) She can crawl a little bit, but not very fast and she started dancing a little bit when we turn on music (it is more of a rocking back and forth). She can also reach for us when she wants to be held. Surprisingly she doesn't like fruit and she now hates her jumperoo (she prefers to be moving around on the floor). She is getting pretty bored of all of her toys so I have to get pretty creative with things for her to play with. But we are having fun (most of the time), she has a sweet personality and are excited to watch her grow!
Here are a few more pictures...I don't know what she is going to do when we get around to hanging up that mirror. she loves playing with it, good thing we are so slow at decorating this new house.
On sunday after we took off her dress we thought she kinda looked like a snowman in her all white attire so we decided to add some buttons. :)
Standing up with the ottoman that rocks (that is sheer talent, guys)
I saved my favorite one for last. She learned how to turn the volume up and down on her CD player, she was so proud of herself (look at that sweet face) Have a Great day! Happy Leap Year/Day (whatever it is)

22

This past Friday I turned 22. It was a special day because McKay luckily had it off work so we were able to celebrate in Salt Lake where they have an Ikea and a Zupas which meant I was one happy lady :) That night my mom cooked dinner with yummy mashed potatoes and I made a new cake that I have been dying to try (white chocolate raspberry cake, yep it was a rich/moist heaven). It was a day full of tons of house decor shopping and eating. I got money (seriously what I needed/wanted) and ofcourse my piano that I have been faithfully practicing on for the past month. Thanks to Mckay and my family for making it a special day.
Also that weekend my best friend, Courtney, who I met when we were just itty bitty was having a bridal shower for her up coming wedding so we all(my mom, sisters, and me) headed down to Provo for it. So fun to get together, we just couldn't help taking a picture. :) Courtney is the one two people to the left of Adalyn and I. So excited for you Courtney!
Later Saturday night the Cannon girls (all of my cousins and sisters) had a shopping spree party at Maurice's (SERIOUSLY love that store). It was after the store closed and we had the whole place to ourselves. I have been wanting to do one of these for a while and it was nice to try it out. We all got some cute stuff so I think that it was a success. :)

I am so happy to be 22 and kinda wish that I could stay this age forever. (don't we all) I was thinking back to the past few years and all of the things that have happened. When I turned 19 I got married, 20 I ran a marathon, 21 I had a baby, So what big goal am I going to accomplish this year? Who knows I guess I better start thinking of something... Hey I am learning to play the piano, maybe that will be my goal. :) Well I hope you are all having a happy week, and I hope this wind stops soon because it is freaking me out :P Have a great day!

Just Breathe and Our Valentines Day 2012

Tonight I had a mommy temper tantrum. Lovely right? poor McKay... Adalyn just stared at me, at least she wasn't crying (which is what she had been doing the rest of the afternoon) In her defense she did just get her 6 month shots yesterday which always throws her off her schedule for a few days. That would also explain why she woke up 3-4 times last night. Oh man I am SO out of practice with waking up in the middle of the night! Luckily she slept in until 10:30 to make up for it. That girl needs her sleep as much as her mother. After my little melt down McKay took Adalyn for a little daddy/daughter time to get me a Cafe Rio salad. So in the end everyone was happy Adalyn got out of the house and mommy got food. :) Wondering what McKay got? He is playing church ball right now so I don't think he is suffering too much.

I hate having melt downs like that. I hate how they make me feel and I am not usually very nice during them. But McKay and I both agreed that they are good for me. I occasionally need a good cry and though they aren't always pleasant, they help clue McKay in on what I am thinking/feeling. And now I feel refreshed (no nothing was solved, that is not usually my goal just need to be understood) and can go on with life.

In other news we had a great Valentines Day. Super simple. I will be honest I kind of missed being able to go on a date, have adult conversation, and not have to worry about our little cutie's bedtime. But we choose not to get a babysitter since we haven't really figured the babysitting stuff out yet here in Idaho. So that is life and I still really enjoyed loving on both of my valentines. We started a new tradition of having the traditional Red and pink dinner. I think it will be fun to do with Adalyn and her future siblings. This year we had Chicken Parmesan and jello... oh and strawberry cake. After dinner we went to Deseret Book so that McKay could pick out his Valentines gift, a new book to read on his ride to work (he rides a bus so don't worry, he is still being safe). We finished off the night with a movie. Pretty normal stuff all around, but I am glad that we at least did something. :) Love her...
Love him...
Hope everyone is having a good Feburary! Crazy weather, but I love it! Yesterday we went for a little walk so peaceful and so needed! Have a great night, as always.

Our six month old beauty

Happy Half Birthday cutie pie. We love you and are so excited to watch you grow! Keep on smiling, keep on talking, and keep on sleeping through the night...please :)
Favorite toys: Cellphones, Calculators, power cords, (ya we are safe parents) and your play steering wheel. None of those cute baby rattles :(
Eats: 4-5 times a day and we are still nursing yay! (never thought that I would make it this long) Only eats rice cereal so far, but we are going to start other foods anyday.
Milestones: Sits up, scoots backwards, rolls over, loves to jump
Loves: Mommy, playing the piano, and sucking on her bottom lip (so silly)
Oh and she learned a new trick the other day, she can now sit up in the grocery cart. This was a special day for mom because I now don't have to lug her car seat everywhere. Yay for easier shopping!
Well here are a few pictures
A quick walk down memory lane: Here she is at one month old...
And here she is today...
Always sucking on her lip these days...must taste good. :) Have a good day!
