21 Weeks

So this post would have been more logical last week at 20 weeks, but I was tired and too busy shopping so we get it this week, at 21 weeks. Past the half way point yay!!! So here is a quick update about the pregnancy and how things are going...

I can FINALLY feel her move, basically only REALLY felt it yesterday and today. When I was at my appointment last week the doctor thought that it was strange that I hadn't felt her yet. Honestly I think that I had felt her but I didn't really know that, that is what it was. (I just thought it was gas or something...ok too much info.)

I like food again! First trimester I hated eating because nothing sounded good. Definitely don't have that problem anymore. I can even enjoy Panda Express again (I couldn't even think about their food in the beginning)

I have accepted (I think) that you have to gain weight when you are pregnant and that it is a good thing. I still get jealous when I see someone out running on the street, but at least I don't feel like hiding my stomach anymore...oh wait I would have to hide A LOT more than my stomach because I have gained weight EVERYWHERE.

I am getting emotional. I cry over everything. Happy or sad.

I sleep for about nine-ten hours a night and still want a nap at the end of work

I am finally fitting into my maternity pants and shirts so it makes it a lot easier to get dressed in the morning. No more of the inbetween normal and maternity clothes.

I stare at every baby/mother that I see. Not quite jealous yet that it is them and not me, just think it babies are so cute!

Well that is about it, nothing too strange I am just getting bigger. WE sure do love this little girl and can't wait to meet her! Here is a picture from Twenty weeks that McKay may have slightly forced me to take. Thanks Mckay I am sure that I will love it later on. Or not. :) Have a good night everyone!

Classifieds

I think McKay and I have spent almost EVERY night this week on KSL.com.
Is that a bad thing? Possibly...
Have we found some good deals? Yea maybe...
Is this obsession going to end soon? Probably not...

So before I go on let me give you all some background info. Because there is a very good chance that quite a few of my blog posts this summer will revolve around similar topics.

As most of you know we are moving in about a month, we found our new apartment and are basically just waiting till McKay graduates. Currently I am working full time but will no longer be doing that once we move. What will I be doing when we move? Ahhh that is a great question and I am still working on the answer for it. I have a million ideas in my head of what I could do so now it just depends on what I get motivated to actually do when I am 8 months pregnant. But one MAIN thing that I would like to do is redecorate and reorganize. (ok so that is two things, but they mesh together so well that it is basically one thing) So through out the past couple of weeks I have come up with a list of furniture type items that I will need/want (ok lets be honest mostly want) to help fufill this dream/desire of mine. I love to decorate and I can't wait to do it in our new townhouse! Especially when one of those rooms gets to be a nursery for our little girl :) Here is an almost complete list of the things that were on my furniture list:
Dresser for our room
Dresser/changing table for the baby's room
Extra bed for when guests come over (hopefully we will have some guests)
Dryer
New TV stand that matches our living room colors
Night stands for our room
Glider/rocking chair for nursery
computer desk
additional freezer

So this list is the reason that we have been on KSL Classifieds all week. And I am happy to report that we actually got about 1/2 of the things on our list. Then when we actually move I can focus on just adding the final touches/decorations (the creative parts) and organizing everything. Honestly though I am worried that I will get bored and slightly lonely being a stay at home wife for a few months because I am so used to being busy. But hopefully I can spend this time learning and growing as a individual and as a homemaker. Along with house decorating I want to focus on food storage, meal planning, and McKay's mission scrapbook. So here's to motivation! Oh and obviously I will also be preparing for a new baby too. :) Well that is all for today, have a good night!

p.s. I am very jealous of Salt Lake County you guys have a million choices of used furniture down there! While on KSL there were MANY times when we wished that we lived closer. But none the less we were able to find a few things up here in Cache county. Just got to look hard I guess and be VERY patient

p.s.s. Here is the proof that our little one is a girl...

I got my wish!!!

Ok everyone we went to the best doctors appointment ever today! And we found out that we are having a darling little GIRL!!!!
I... CAN'T...WAIT!!!

And McKay is warming up to the idea (luckily he has a few more months left to get used to it) We pretty much already have a name picked out but we are not 100% sure yet, just 99.9% :) So life is GREAT and we are having fun spending WAY too much money on clothes for her. (ok maybe that last part is just me, but McKay hasn't been complaining.) Hope you all have a good night!

p.s. today is a super busy day so I will have to post pictures tomorrow. SORRY!! I am off to book club!

Family, Isn't it about time?

So tonight after a yummy dinner with our sweet neighbors McKay and I got talking about holidays... and who we were going to spend them with.
Now I know that this is a tough subject for a lot of newly wed couples because it is sometimes hard to split your time among Two or more families instead of just the one that you did when you were single. McKay and I are no exception and there have been some hard decisions in the past year on who we should spend each holiday with. We REALLY want to be fair and spend time with everyone because we both LOVE hanging out with our families, but it seems like we are always forgetting who we spent the holiday with last year and whos turn is it this year.
So... We tried to be organized (now don't laugh at this next part because it has taken away a lot of stress)...we made a chart. A full blown diagram of who we would spend which holiday with for the next few years, it is basically a rotation. Before Christmas we made just for Thanksgiving and Christmas because those seemed to be the hardest holidays out of the year, but tonight we made one for ALL holidays and we tried to be as fair as possible.
Weird? Pathetic? Crazy? are any of those terms going through your mind yet? Probably cause they are going through mine. But I think it will be a lifesaver. Maybe in a world where all of our families lived close enough to each other that it was possible to visit them all in one weekend and not go crazy from driving so much we could live without it. But in a few months we are moving farther away from our families and I fear that things would just get more complicated so for now our chart is staying. So here's to wishful thinking that we could find such an easy solution to our holiday drama! (probably not, I will let you know how it goes) Does any one else ever have this problem? Any amazing solutions that you would like to share with us newly weds?

Well that is all from me for tonight, and before I go I do have to say thank you to our WONDERFUL families who love us no matter what, even if we can't see them on every holiday. We love you! Have a good night!

What do YOU think it is?

The day is almost here! This coming wednesday we get to find out whether we are having a boy or girl. So my question is... what do you think it is?
As for us, we both think that it is a boy and will be quite shocked if it is a girl. But I am secretly still hoping that it is a girl because I think it would be quite delightful to dress up a little girl with dresses, headbands, and bracelets. But we will know soon enough and then the real fun starts! Well that is all for now, have a great weekend!

We have got a start date, folks!

So today McKay recieved an exciting phone call from his future employers saying that he passed the security clearance (it took 3 months to process) and they were ready for him to give them his start date. YAY!!! He choose May 16th as his start date, one week after his graduation. So life will be full of changes as we now offically start to prepare to move. We are SO excited for this new adventure and are very thankful for all of the blessings in our life right now! Well that is all, just thought that I would share that tidbit of info. Have a good night!

Patience

Today was a rough day. When I got home...there were tears. :( It was long lots of fighting, tattletales, and whining (from the kids); and I had ZERO patience for it all! I am finding that to be more and more common as I have been pregnant (the lack of patience thing) and I do not like it, the kids at work do not like it, and I am sure my husband does not like it either though he hasn't said yet... my attitude needs to change NOW I refuse to be a grumpy pregnant lady (and if you are reading this and are pregnant, please do not assume that I am calling you grumpy, just me). So that is my goal, instead of pout and be upset because life is sometimes hard I am going to focusing on changing MY attitude instead of everyone around me (because that sure is not working). So here is to a new attitude and a little more patience! (hopefully this works or we will be back tomorrow)
Wow writing it all down does help, and lucky for McKay I think it is all out of my system so he doesn't have to hear about it when he gets home! And so that this post isn't entirely pathetic, here is a belly picture at 17 weeks...
Hope you are all having a better day than I did!
