Bringing Declin Home

Our hospital stay with Declin was wonderful, but just a little too short!  The hospital was very full on the day that I delivered so they told me that if I was interested they would let me go home at the 24 mark instead of waiting until Declin was 48 hrs. old.  Honestly I didn't really want to leave that soon, but I didn't really have a good enough reason to stay either so I agreed to leaving 24 hrs after having Declin.  And honestly when you have two busy toddlers at home staying an extra day is a good thing!  It took me several more days to feel like I had fully recovered (sleep wise) from the night of delivery and staying awake for 36 hrs straight.  So that is my one regret, but in the end everything turned out fine and McKay and I loved soaking in Declin's cuteness together in the hospital.

Here we are enjoying our "celebration dinner" on the evening of his "birth day".

Declin resting up from his big day :)

After dinner Grandma Liz brought the kids to see their new little brother.

Jensen looked for a minute and then moved on to more important things like slamming the bathroom door over and over again, but Adalyn loved seeing Declin and wanted to hold him over and over again.

Thank you thank you to Grandma Liz for staying with the kids for a day, it helped us SO much!

Then we attempted our first family photo.  The kids are actually just watching the TV that was on behind the camera, but hey it works :)

They stayed for a little bit, but then I was ready to be done and actually get some sleep (36 hrs. with no sleep was starting to wear on me) so Grandma scooped them up and headed home.

The next morning we got started on all of the check out paper work and attempted to take a few naps in between all the doctor/nurse visits.  Declin was a good little guy and passed all of his tests with flying colors!

Then we loaded him up and headed home.  :)

The kids were so excited to see him!

Love our growing family!
