First: A couple of weekends ago it was general conference as you all know... For this general conference we spent Saturday at our apartment (on our new couchs) with just the two of us and we may or may not have fallen asleep... oops. Then on Sunday we headed to my aunt and uncle's house on my mom's side for lunch and to watch the last session together. It was fun to see family even if my parents weren't able to come (they were in St. George for their anniversary which is in December... I know it is confusing why they were celebrating it in Oct. but just go with it, that is what we do. :) love you mom!)And as always conference was amazing and with have been talking about it almost nonstop since then.
Here is a picture of our new couchs we love them dearly :)
Also here is a picture of the girlies on Sunday... I love them too :)
The second thing on my mind is random, but it gives you a glimpse into our lives these days. So back ground info... This past week McKay had a interview for a possible future job. the interview was a little bit farther away so he was going up the day before, and they were going to get him a hotel for that night. So naturally I wanted to be a good wife and wish him luck for his interview. Obviously I couldn't get him flowers so I decided to go with the next best thing...food. But here is my dilema, if I was a perfect wife I would have cooked and slaved over homemade treats and I would have saved lots of money not to mention they would be healthier. But, Instead I stopped at the grocery on my break from work while I was on my way to pick up McKay from school and grabbed these...
Basically all of my favorite treats and I hoped that he would like them too. Pathetic I know, but when you go to work early, have a quick break during the day that I need to regain my patience for the next half of the day and then I don't get off till 6:30 and by then I am STARVING. Oh and to top it off, most nights I have classes after work and I don't even get home until nine or nine thirty. Do I have time to create an amazing meal? nope. But I want to. So the only solution that I have come up with that would produce a semi decent meal that doesn't include going out for every meal (which happens too much these days) is the crock pot, I am not too familiar with it but I NEED to become familar with it. So with fall coming up, if anyone has any yummy recipes for the crock pot send them my way (my email is kajsa.pace@gmail.com). As a side note to all of my complaining I understand that this is just a phase that we get to go through and by writing this post I hope that later on in life when I am a stay at home mom that I will make sure that I do make yummy dinners and treats and remember the years of not being able to (not that it will be easier then, just hopefully more doable). And also thank you to McKay for cooking half the time these days and for being creative and coming up with something to eat when I haven't made anything. Well that is all for today everyone, thanks for listening and on a positive note, my crock pot is going and there WILL be a hot dinner tonight, thank heavens for Saturday!
You are so cute Kajsa!! I love it! It will get easier! Mainly cuz you will become used to it! :) Love you guys!! Glad you guys are doing great!!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your new couches! I've only heard about them until now, so thanks for posting pictures! About crazy schedules & dinner struggles, we're STILL there doing that, just differently, so I don't envy you. The crock-pot's great, but it's sure hard to come up with recipes other than chicken ones... Good luck!
ReplyDeleteKajsa, I just read about this blog today, maybe it can help you find some good crock-pot recipes: 365daysofcrockpot.com
